About Me
My name’s Gill Frisby. I’m a fully qualified and professional independent celebrant based in the Staffordshire village of Drayton Bassett. My neighbouring counties are the West Midlands and Warwickshire, but I’m more than happy to travel further afield.
My work has always been all about PEOPLE – getting the best from them and giving my best to them. From a long rewarding background in recruitment, helping and guiding people in their careers and development, to a vocation in education, as a specialist English lecturer, I’ve spent 20 years immersed in public speaking, words and stories. I’ve listened to so many fascinating tales, and I’ve learned as much about people, in all their wonderful diversity, as they’ve learned from me. I literally could write a book!
Becoming a celebrant has harnessed all those things that I am passionate about: Listening, language and love. I adore hearing and absorbing stories of love and life, crafting words into beautiful and truly personal narratives, and delivering speeches with genuine warmth and emotion, plus a good sprinkling of a cheeky sense of humour! I’d love to hear all about you as a couple, or as a family, and put pen to paper to tell and celebrate your special love story so far.
I am incredibly family orientated. I’m a proud mom of a lovely son and daughter, and granny to adorable 2-year-old twin girls who are ‘the apples of my eye’! (This is where my sense of humour kicks in, when, just like ‘Alvin & the Chipmunks’, they have the twin-turbo superpower of transforming my house into a crime scene in the blink of an eye!!)
Another thing that makes me tick, is that I’m a huge music fan. I’m often found at gigs, (big concerts, festivals or small venue open mic nights), and I sing with ‘Rock Choir’ at loads of charity events. We’re so excited to be performing at the Edinburgh Fringe this summer! So, if you need any ideas to find those special tracks or musical moments for your big day, I’ll be in my element
